Cookie policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
CertProof uses one cookie, and it is there to remember your sign-in to the certificate portal. We do not measure your visit, show no advertising and load nothing from other parties.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it recognises you on the next page. Some cookies are needed to make a site work, others exist to count or follow visitors. CertProof only uses the first kind.
2. Which cookie do we use?
- Name
- normec_cert_session
- Purpose
- Remembers that you are signed in to the certificate portal, so you do not have to enter your last name and date of birth again on every page.
- Contents
- Your last name and date of birth, stored encrypted. Your certificates themselves are not in it.
- Duration
- 12 hours. Every time you use the portal that period starts again. Signing out clears the cookie immediately.
- Attributes
- HttpOnly (not readable by scripts), Secure (https only) and SameSite=Lax (not sent from other websites).
- Set by
- certproof.be itself. No other party can read this cookie.
This cookie is strictly necessary: without it the portal cannot show your certificates. That is why it is always on and cannot be refused. If you want rid of it, sign out or delete this site’s cookies in your browser.
3. What we do not do
- No analytics or visitor statistics.
- No advertising or profiling cookies.
- No third-party cookies or scripts — no social media buttons or embedded video either.
- No fonts from an external server; ours are on our own domain.
- We sell and share nothing with advertisers.
4. Changing your choice
There is a cookie icon at the bottom right of every page. That is where you change your choice and see what each category does. We keep that choice in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie.
The Statistics category is there in case we want to measure visitor numbers later. At the moment no measurement script runs at all, so that choice changes nothing today.
